Premonitions
Two weeks of holiday near Venice Beach in LA (the site of this and other Rip Cronk murals) have come and gone and are now a series of afterimages that I’m filing under the heading of serenity. Family. Friends, old and new.
The time also yielded a number of aesthetic “discoveries”–including the mind-blowing portrait Madame Seurat that I had never before seen and, now, cannot imagine ever having not known. That and the other treasures gleaned from the desert holiday have been stowed below decks for further mapping and articulation when that becomes possible. For the moment, I delight in the afterimages of serene time, somehow fully anticipated well in advance.
Is the afterimage a premonition?
