We’re living in a wordling kind of world…

Have you found that the political blogs you were addicted to as recently as last summer have become infinitely less compelling of late?  Sure you have!  (Especially if you live in a part of the globe that happens to lie within a 15-mile radius of DC’s Washington monument.)   So, are you wondering what to do with all your extra time?  Sure you are! Well, “wordling” may be just the thing for you.

Phillip Hill (who runs a pair of excellent poetry sites–Sideways Station and The Poemarium) has recently posted an introduction to wordling (here) which includes interesting images (such as the picture you see at left, “explained” in Phillip’s post), a fun quiz, and a variety of creations he’s spun off the mother ship of worldwide wordling (here).

Perhaps the text is dead.  But there’s always a text cloud on the horizon in our wordling kind of world…ugh, the golem apologizes for writing the last sentence, for the title of this post, and any nasty 1980s pop song you may find it hard to get out of your head today…but he had to close the post quickly in order to do some atmospheric tests on wordled versions of War and Peace, Silas Marner, and the U.S. Tax Code (annotated).    Happy wordling earthlings!
